Archiving & Preservation Policy

Athenaeum Scientific Publishers is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published scholarly content.

All articles published in our journals are preserved through multiple mechanisms designed to support long-term availability:

  • Publisher Archiving:
Final published versions of articles are securely stored and maintained on the publisher’s primary servers with regular backups.

  • Self-Archiving (Green Open Access):
Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit the published version of their articles in institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, or personal academic websites without embargo.

  • Metadata Preservation:
Article metadata is openly available and structured to support harvesting, indexing, and long-term discoverability by abstracting and indexing services.

  • Long-Term Preservation Statement:
Athenaeum Scientific Publishers has signed a formal digital preservation agreement with Portico to support the long-term preservation of its scholarly content. The onboarding and activation process for content archiving is currently in progress. In addition, all published content is safeguarded through secure publisher archiving systems, regular backups, and open repository dissemination to ensure continued accessibility.

These measures ensure continued access to published content in the event of technological changes, platform migration, or service interruption, in line with international best practices for scholarly publishing.
