Athenaeum Scientific Publishers offers an optional membership program designed to support manuscript submission administration and workflow management across its journals.

Membership does not confer any editorial preference, priority, or influence over peer review or acceptance decisions.

Participation in the membership program is entirely optional and is not required for manuscript submission or consideration.

Scope of Membership

Membership provides:

• • Administrative support for manuscript submission and processing across journals published by Athenaeum Scientific Publishers
  • Standard editorial handling and peer review processes for each submission
  • Independent evaluation of each manuscript based on journal scope, academic quality, ethical compliance, and scientific merit

Each manuscript is assessed individually. Editorial outcomes are not affected by membership status.

Submission Without Membership

Authors are not required to enroll in the membership program to submit manuscripts. Manuscript submission is open to all authors and is not conditional upon membership.

There are no submission fees for authors who choose not to enroll in the membership program.

For authors who do not enroll in a membership plan, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is applicable only after editorial acceptance, in accordance with the journal’s APC policy.

Editorial Independence (Important Policy Statement)

Payment of membership fees does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

All editorial decisions are made independently by editors and reviewers in accordance with published editorial and ethical policies and COPE guidance.

Membership Plans (12-Month Period)

The following plans apply within a 12-month period:

• Plan A: Up to 3 submissions — USD 299
• Plan B: Up to 6 submissions — USD 599
• Plan C: Up to 12 submissions — USD 999

Unused submissions do not carry forward beyond the membership period. Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of activation.

Important Notes

• Membership fees are non-refundable
• Submission under a membership does not ensure acceptance
• Rejection, withdrawal, or ethical concerns are handled strictly according to journal policies
• Membership does not exempt authors from authorship, ethical, conflict-of-interest, or reporting requirements
• The publisher reserves the right to decline or limit submissions that do not meet the journal’s scope, quality standards, or ethical requirements

Membership and Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Where an author enrolls in a membership plan, the associated fee is treated as an advance administrative payment covering submission handling and publication processing for the number of manuscripts included in the selected plan.

If a manuscript submitted under an active membership is accepted following peer review, no separate Article Processing Charge (APC) is required for that manuscript, as applicable publication processing is included within the membership allocation.

Membership does not influence editorial evaluation, peer review, or acceptance decisions. All manuscripts are assessed independently based on scientific merit, quality, and ethical standards.

If a manuscript is rejected, withdrawn, or not accepted, the unused submission allocation remains available within the membership period for future submissions.

Membership is not required for publication. Authors may publish by paying the standard APC after acceptance without enrolling in any membership plan.
