Self-Archiving Policy

The Journal of Clinical Medical Research (JCMR) is dedicated to advancing open access to scientific research and facilitating the widespread dissemination of knowledge across the global research community. Our self-archiving policy empowers authors by providing them with the opportunity to share their research at various stages of the publication process, thereby ensuring that valuable scientific contributions are accessible to all, free from the constraints of paywalls.

Pre-submitted manuscripts

Authors are encouraged to take advantage of self-archiving by sharing their pre-submission manuscripts on preprint servers or repositories before submitting to JCMR. By disseminating their work early, authors engage with fellow researchers and subject experts, potentially enhancing the visibility and impact of their research. In the cover letter during submission, authors should include details about the pre-submitted manuscript, including the repository and corresponding DOI. This early sharing not only fosters collaboration but also allows for feedback and improvements before formal submission.

Submitted manuscripts

After submission but before the initiation of the peer review process, authors have the option to archive their manuscripts. This proactive approach to self-archiving ensures that the research remains accessible to the scientific community even during the review process. To ensure transparency and proper documentation, authors are required to email the journal’s editorial office with information about the repository and corresponding DOI where the manuscript is archived.

Under review state

Throughout the peer review process, authors retain the permission to archive their manuscripts. Providing details about the repository and associated DOI to the journal’s editorial office ensures accurate documentation and transparency. This allows for continuous access to the research findings, promoting collaboration and engagement among researchers.

Accepted manuscripts

Upon acceptance for publication, authors can archive the accepted version of their manuscript. This final version reflects the revisions made based on peer review feedback and represents the culmination of the research process. It is imperative for authors to notify the journal’s editorial office via email, providing information about the repository and corresponding DOI. Archiving the accepted manuscript ensures that the research is available to the public even before formal publication, maximizing its impact and reach.

Published articles

Following formal publication in JCMR, authors have the opportunity to archive the published article. This represents the culmination of the research journey and signifies the contribution to the scholarly community. Authors should update the DOI associated with the pre-print to match the one provided by the journal for the published version. Furthermore, authors are encouraged to share the published article through various channels, including social media platforms, research platforms, institutional repositories, personal websites, and blogs, thereby facilitating broader dissemination and accessibility of the research findings.

At JCMR, we remain committed to promoting open access principles and empowering authors to share their research widely, thereby contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge and innovation on a global scale. Through our self-archiving policy, we aim to facilitate collaboration, foster transparency, and maximize the impact of research in the field of clinical medical research.
